The plain version of how money moves through this site. The tours and tickets themselves are compared across the Tokyo tickets and things to do in Tokyo pages, and the Tokyo city guide homepage ties them together.

The short version

Tour and ticket cards on this site link to GetYourGuide. Hotel and neighbourhood links, the "see stays in this area" buttons on where to stay and the neighbourhood pages, go through Stay22, which forwards you to Booking.com, Agoda, Expedia or another booking site and pays us a commission on the same terms. If you book after clicking one, the platform pays us a commission out of its own margin. Your price is identical either way, and clicking costs you nothing.

We are not a tour operator or a travel agency. We sell nothing, take no payments and act as nobody's agent.

Who does what

We compare listings and link out. The platform takes your payment and handles customer service; the operator named on the listing runs the actual tour, walk or transfer. If a departure is cancelled or a guide fails to show, that is resolved between you, the platform and the operator under their policies; we have no standing in that conversation.

Some tickets are different. Ghibli Museum tickets are sold in dated batches through one official channel only, so that page links you straight to it. teamLab's own sites and Tokyo Disney Resort's official site also sell directly. Where buying at the source is the right move, the page links there plainly, with no tracking and no commission to us.

What the commission does not buy

Placement, ratings, wording. Nobody has paid to appear on this site or to be described in a particular way, and no operator sees a page before it is published.

The test is on the pages themselves: several of the most-read pages here send you to an official ticket channel that pays us nothing, and say plainly when a guided add-on is not worth its markup. Where a tour earns its price we say why in the same terms: time saved, a queue skipped, access you cannot otherwise get.

Ratings and reviews

Every rating and review count shown on a tour card is GetYourGuide's own published number, read on the date printed with it. We calculate no rating of our own, this site carries no aggregate rating of its own in its markup, it has no reviews, and we write no testimonials. Quoted reviews are short excerpts kept as published, four and five stars only, with the source.

Prices

Tour and ticket prices here show the dollar figure first, with the venue's or platform's own yen figure beside it in brackets, converted at a fixed ¥1,000 = $6.48 read on 2026-09-08 (see about for the source). Both currencies move: platforms reprice constantly and Japanese venues adjust admission by season and by year. The figure that counts is the one on the checkout page before you pay.

When it disagrees with ours, the checkout is right and we would like to know.
